While working at Ford Motor Co., John proposed to management a recommendation.
In 1971 he got a letter from Autolite-Ford Parts Division showing that his proposal
was adopted.
Back in those days you would have your SSN printed on your badge for work.

On his day of retirement they made a cake for him. Notice on the cake it says,
"Catfish". That was his nickname then, my grandfather loved to go boating on his boat
on Lake Erie. 
He passed away on September 25th, 1990. Holy Sepulchre in
Southfield, Michigan.
