Coil tests






probes on coil
Put the probes on the coil sides to test the secondary resistance which should be around 5.43K ohms



proper ohm reading
set the multimeter to 20k ohm and you should get around 5.4 Some coils have read higher or lower at 5.42. If it reports O.L throw it away, it is bad
open lead
open lead, this is showing a short on the secondary resistance

set ohm meter to 200 to test for primary resistance
bad coil boot
place leads on the terminals and look for range of .5 I got anywhere from .5 to .9
